3. Can I order a gift for someone living in Singapore from your site?

Certainly, all gifts which appear on our Singapore website can be delivered to home or office addresses in Singapore. Please note that we cannot deliver to P.O. boxes.

To arrange a gift for someone living in Hong Kong, please visit our Hong Kong website.

4. Can I order a gift for someone in Singapore even if they do not have a gift registry set up with you?

Yes, just make a purchase as a general shopper from our website. Just click on the “Add to Cart” button next to the item(s) you wish to buy and then proceed to checkout when you are ready.

 If you are ordering a gift from a friend’s gift registry hosted on our sites, there will be no delivery fee charged. The gift will be delivered to the registrants at the close of their registry.

6. Do you deliver overseas?

We are able to deliver many of our products overseas, including our entire range of party and wedding favors. Other than the favors, we can deliver selected gifts overseas, please enquire by email, or make a shipping quote request via the cart checkout online.

If you order Products from our site for delivery outside of Singapore, they may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied when the delivery reaches the specified destination. You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes and we have no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount. Please contact your local customs office for further information before finalizing your order.

7. Do I need to create an account before making a purchase on your site?

No, creating a purchases account is optional and serves to enhance your shopping experience. You may choose to purchase a gift from our site as a guest, without creating an account.

8. How can I be sure an item is in stock?

While we make our best efforts to only show on our site gifts which are available/in stock, there may be occasions when an item ordered is not in stock. We aim to contact you within 24-48 hours to confirm the status of a gift ordered. If the gift is not in stock, we will refund your purchase, or if you prefer, we may also offer other in-stock alternatives for your consideration.

9. Can Double Happiness assist my company with gift-giving and large orders?

Yes, please contact us for any corporate gift needs.

10. Can Double Happiness provide customization with a company logo?

Yes, some of our gifts are able to be customized with your company  logo. Please contact us for any corporate gift needs.

11. Do you have a physical shop where we can view your products?

At this time, we have only a web presence. We do not have any physical shop where products can be viewed.

1. How can I access a friend’s gift registry?

If you were given a direct URL link by the registrants, type the URL into your browser for direct access to your friend’s gift list.

You may also type in the first and/or last name of your friend on our homepage to access their gift list.

2. Can I purchase directly from the gift list?

Yes, our registries are designed to make it simple and worry-free for you to find a great gift to buy for your friends. It’s a gift you know they will like and need since they selected it, and we will take care of the logistics so you don’t need to worry about how to get the gift to them.

Once you access your friends’ gift list, you can browse and buy directly from this list. We update the list in real time so there are never duplicated orders. Once a gift is bought, we will arrange for the stock and make delivery.

3. Do I need to create an account to buy from your site?

No, creating a purchases account is optional and serves to enhance your shopping experience. You may choose to purchase a gift from our site as a guest, without creating an account.

4. What is the partial payment option I see on my friend’s gift list?

For gifts over $1,500 HKD, or $250 SGD, a partial payment option is automatically offered to gift givers.  Without having to coordinate with other guests, you can individually contribute to a collective gift- a more expensive gift item or a set of items, in any amount you feel comfortable with.

5. What if I don’t like any of the gifts I see on my friend’s gift list?

If you aren’t seeing anything that catches your eye from your friend’s gift selections on their registry, you can always make a purchase off-list from our vast online gift catalogue, which also includes gift vouchers. We are always here to assist with gift ideas if you require, and we offer a custom gift sourcing service for a unique & special gift.

6. Can I change my order after I’ve paid for it?

Please contact us should you like to amend your order once sent. In most cases we should be able to assist. However, if a gift is a custom ordered/indent item which has already been ordered and processed, it will not be possible to amend your order.

7. Are there any additional fees to me when purchasing from a friend’s gift list hosted with you?

There are no hidden costs, commissions, or added fees involved when purchasing from a gift list hosted on our sites. The price shown for a regular gift on our website is the price you will be charged. Our prices are the Recommended Retail Prices set and given to us by our partner brands and merchants.

Please note that if you pay using a credit card issued in a currency other than SGD, your issuing bank will set their own currency exchange rate.

8. What payment methods can I use to make an order?

We accept international Visa and Mastercard credit cards, Paypal, and SGD cheques drawn on local banks. Please note that credit cards and Paypal payments are processed on Paypal’s own secure servers, and Double Happiness will not receive or have access to your confidential payment information. 9. Do I need to live in Singapore to purchase from a registry hosted on your website?

No, gift givers may reside anywhere in the world, just as long as you can make a payment via Visa, Mastercard or Paypal.

10. When will my gift be delivered to the registrant?

We will group together all purchases and make a single consignment delivery to the registrant(s) shortly after the close of their registry, roughly 3-4 weeks after their event date. However, the registrant(s) will receive notification of your purchase, along with your e-card message as soon as your payment has been successfully processed.

11. Is a card enclosed with gifts purchased online?
When you check out, you'll have the option of typing in a personal e-message that will be sent to the registrants.

12. To whom will a registry gift be delivered?

Our registrants indicated their shipping preferences when they registered. Your gift will be shipped directly to the address specified by the registrants at the date they have specified.

Select gifts directly from our website catalogue. Your gift list is live and ready for purchases from this point, but you’ll also have options for adding other types of gifts:

6. How does a Double Happiness’ registry work?

Double Happiness is and independent, universal gift registry service, allowing you to register gifts from a wide range of merchants and brands, centralized to one gift list.  You create a gift list, and an optional personalized event web page, to be hosted on our website. Next select the gifts you would like to receive from our vast online gift catalogue, from our partner’s physical shops, or from other gift sources we offer you.  Once gifts have been selected, your guests can access and view and purchase their selected gifts directly from the gift list.  Payments are made over Paypal’s secure servers. We will then collect and consolidate payments, keep your gift list updated in real time, and send in the orders to our merchants for processing and delivery. One consignment delivery is offered complimentary after the close of your registry.

You can use our registry services for any occasion that you might receive gifts for- weddings, baby showers, birthdays, graduations, vow renewals, house warmings.

8. Is it free to use Double Happiness for my registry?

Yes, it’s free for you set up and use a gift registry with us!

9. Are there any fees involved with the registry?

For a standard gift registry with gifts selected from our website or from our partner merchants, there are no hidden costs or added fees for you or your guests to pay. The price shown for a regular gift on our website is the price guests are charged. Registrants and their guests have no obligation to purchase any gifts listed on gift lists.  All purchased gifts will be delivered complementary in one consignment at the close of your registry to all HK Island and Kowloon destinations. The personalized website page is an optional feature offered with our compliments to our registrants.

If your guests use a credit card, or paypal to pay, they will not pay any commissions on top of price listed on our website. If their credit card is issued in a currency other than SGD, the issuing bank will set their own currency exchange rate.

The only fees which might apply to a registry are as follows:

-      For cash gifts and custom sourced gifts, a 12.5% administration fee is deducted before remittance to you, but the guest pays the amount shown online.

-      For charity donations, we remit the net amount of funds received in our accounts for the transaction to the charity. If we have been charged a fee by a bank or other payment processing supplier for transaction processing, they will be netted off the original amount that was gifted before remittance to the charity.

-      One consignment delivery is offered complementary for gift lists to most Singapore destinations, with the exception of Sentosa, Resort Worlds and Marina Bay Sands, which will incur a delivery charge of $40 SGD. Should you choose not to have your gifts combined for delivery in one consignment, there will be charges for each delivery after the first one.

10. Who can use the registry?

As a registrant, you should have a local Singapore delivery address (no P.O. box addresses) to have a gift list on our Singapore site, unless you are listing only non-physical gifts such as cash gifts, or gifts of charity on your gift list.
For Hong Kong delivery addresses, please create a registry on our Hong Kong site. For Mainland China delivery addresses, please contact us by email to help set up a registry for you.

Anybody anywhere in the world can make a purchase from your gift list, as long as they have access to Paypal or have a credit card to make a purchase. Our registry service is designed to make it easy for your guests, living overseas or locally, to buy a gift for you. Your guests can access your gift list online, 24/7 in any time zone, and we provide a currency converter tool on the gift list page. Guests have a choice of secure payment methods, and they won’t need to worry about any shipping or transportation issues in getting a gift to you.

We recommend registering three to four months before your event to allow friends and family enough time to purchase gifts before the event.

12. What is the ‘Partial Contribution’ function?

Partial Contribution allows you to register an expensive gift item which might be more than you would like any one guest to have to pay.  Guests share the cost, without having to organize amongst themselves. This feature is particularly useful for sets (such as chinaware or cutlery), for furniture or A/V equipment, or artwork for example.

Our registry automatically gives the partial contribution option for any gift on your registry over $250 SGD.This ensures that there is always a gift in everyone’s budget. Guests contribute any amount they feel comfortable with.

Our system keeps track of all contributions in real time and shows the balance on your gift list. Once the full amount has been paid, we'll send the order to the appropriate merchant.

13. What happens if the full amount of my gift has not been bought in the partial contribution feature at the close of my registry?

If a gift has not been fully purchased by the close of your registry, you can (1) make up the difference yourself in order to have the gift ordered and delivered or (2) opt to have the amount purchased given to you as credit to use for gifts on our website, or for a gift voucher from our merchants.

14. What is the "Hold Gift" Option?

If you are undecided about the gifts selected, or have selected a set that you wish to have fully bought before confirming it, you may choose to HOLD some or all gifts in your list. This means when a HOLD gift is bought, we will not proceed to order the gift, but instead will keep the amount in credit for you to allocate at a later time to any gift from any merchant in our catalogue. Your guests cannot see if a gift is marked a HOLD.

15. Where can I mark gifts to "Hold "?

You will find the option to Hold and Unhold your gifts in the Gift Selection & Management section of your registry account, accessed when you login. In the gift list summary, the last column is the Hold Gift column.

16. What happens if I have not selected the "Hold Gift" Option?

If your gift is marked “Unhold,” your gift will be ordered in from merchants when we receive payment from your guests, and will arrange delivery to you on your specified delivery date. There are occasions where gifts are ordered from the merchant, but due to unforeseen circumstances the item is no longer available from the merchant. In such event, we will offer you credit or a gift voucher in lieu.

17. Am I obligated to buy the remainder of the gifts which are left unbought at the end of my registry myself?

No, you are under no obligation to purchase any of the gifts listed on your gift list.

18. How do I add gifts from visiting partner merchants’ physical shops or websites which don’t appear on your website to my registry?

Pls fill out, or request shop staff to assist you to fill out the Partner Merchant Gift Selection Form with your gifts chosen from our partner merchants’ physical shops or websites.

In the Gift Selection & Management area of Registry Home, you may:

  • Enter the gift information/details in the Add Gifts section
  • Upload the forms to us using the upload button for us to upload for you
  • Email the forms to us for us to upload for you

We will then verify the gifts with the merchants and then upload your selections to your personal gift page within our website. Please allow up to one week for these gifts to be live on your registry.

19. How do I list wines on my registry?

We have an extensive range of wines available for registering to your gift list, but highlight only a small selection on our website. Please contact us to list wines which you do not see on our site. We work with many of the city’s best wine purveyors, and can source almost any wine you'd like to receive. The wines will be listed at regular retail price for the wines and will not incur custom sourced gift admin fees.

20. How do gifts from shops from non-partner merchants or custom-sourced gifts work?

We are happy to source or list a gift for you from any shop or brand in the world. Please simply send us an email with the link to the gift, or what you would like us to source for you. For listing gifts from other shops or merchants or for custom sourcing of special gifts, an administrative fee of 12.5% to the shop's retail price is added into the price shown to your guests. When bought, we will remit the amount of the gift, less the 12.5% fee to you for self-purchase.

21. How do cash gifts work?

To add a cash gift, login, then go to Add a Cash Gift, located in the "Gift Selection and Management” tab in your registry account.  You may choose to have an open ended amount, or set a maximum amount for cash gifts received.

For cash gifts we deduct a 12.5% administration fee from the amount given by a gift giver before remittance, normally made by cheque posted to you at the close of your registry.

Cash payments are be paid by cheque in local currency and sent by post to the registrant, or by bank transfer to local bank accounts. We can remit to overseas banks but service fees and bank charges may apply.  The cash payment is made at the close of a registry in one conglomerated payment.

22. How do gifts of charity work?

Select any of our listed charities for your gift list. For charitable donations, Double Happiness will remit the full amount of the donation, less any bank or credit card transaction charges to the charity in your name. Double Happiness does not retain any fees for charitable donations.

23. How can I announce my gift list once I create it?

There are several ways to inform your guests:

-      Registry Cards. Include a registry card with your invitation or announcement, showing the direct link to your gift registry and our contact information.  Announcement cards on Double Happiness stock are available from our online shop at a nominal price.

-      Direct Link. Email the direct link to your registry to your guests.

-      Facebook, you will find links in your registry account to link your registry to your Facebook account.

-      Personalized Website/RSVP. When friends view your personalized website or use the RSVP tool, they will have a direct link from that page to your gift registry.

24. How do my guests access my registry?

Guests/gift givers can access your registry by entering your last name in the "Search for Registry" box located on our homepage.   They can also use a direct link to access your registry which will be given to you upon completion of registration. We also have an option for you to announce your registry to your friends on Facebook.

25. When do you order the gifts for custom ordered or indent items?

If a gift is a special order or custom order item, and the item is not a HOLD item, we will process the order as soon as we have received full payment from your guests’ for the gift.

If you have asked us to custom source a gift, or have listed a non-merchant gift, the amount given to us for those gifts less an admin fee of 12.5% shall be remitted to you for your self-purchase.

26. What is your return and exchange policy?

Please refer to our Deliveries & Exchanges policy.

Once a gift has been delivered to the registrant, all matters pertaining to exchanges, warranties, defects and replacements on products shall normally be settled between the registrant and the merchant directly, according to the merchant’s own such policies.

27. How do you set your prices for products online?

We use the regular retail prices (RRP) set by the merchants and brands that we have partnered with for our products online.The prices shown online are inclusive of Singapore GST tax.

Please note that from time to time, our merchants may hold sales or offer special promotions in their own shops, but our policy is to always use the regular retail prices for the purposes of the gift registry.

28. When will my gift list close?

Your gift list will automatically close 14 days after its event date by default. Should you wish to change the default close date, you may do so on your ‘Registry Home’ page.

Personalized websites may continue to be edited / viewable indefinitely.

29. When will my gifts be delivered to me?

All gifts will be grouped together and delivered to you in one consignment delivery. You will be contacted by Double Happiness shortly after the close of your gift list to confirm all delivery details. Please note that while we make every effort to have your gift items ready for delivery at the close of your registry, in certain instances there may be a delay due to import/ordering times, or stocking situations from our Merchants which are beyond our control.

One consignment delivery is offered complementary most Singapore locations, with the exception of Sentosa, Resort Worlds and Marina Bay Sands, which will incur a delivery charge of $40 SGD.

31. How does the on-line RSVP tool work?

Our on-line RSVP system allows guests to RSVP to your event via your personalized website page. They will input if they are coming to the event and how many are in their party, and have an opportunity to add a comment to you. All replies are tallied in live time and viewable on your ‘Registry Home’ page.

You will also have the ability to input yourself RSVP’s that you may receive off line, so that your total RSVP’s are kept up to date and in one place.

32. What is the personalized website page?

When you create a gift list with us, you will have the option to create a personalized website ‘cover’ page to precede the gift list with our compliments.  The personalized website allows you to customize a page about you and your event, complete with an area for an introductory text and photo, plus a link to your gift list.

You will have the option to add details about your event- map, addresses and times, use the RSVP tool or to create an online photo gallery. Your page is only viewable if your guests have been given the direct URL link. Unlike your gift list page, it will not be accessible by any search function on our website to protect your privacy.

Our guests enjoy having the cover page to share news about themselves and their event, but its also a nice way to subtly introduce your gift list to your guests.

This personalized webpage is optional, you may of course choose to have only a gift list with us.

33. What are some of the benefits of having a Lifetime Registry account with Double Happiness?

When you create an account with Double Happiness, it doesn’t close when your Gift List closes.  You can open multiple gift lists to run at the same time, or at different times, for all the important events in your life.  For example, create a Wedding Gift Registry, then when you begin a family- a Baby Registry, then years later -a Vow Renewal Ceremony list.

Registrants receive a 15% discount to complete their gift lists at the close of the registry, and will receive a lifetime discount for all future purchases from our website. We offer gift vouchers for referrals, and all registrants are entered into our regular lucky draws. You’ll also periodically receive special offers and invitations to exclusive sale events on our site.
